Listen to the audio of Tom Cruise yelling at crew members who broke covid restrictions on the set of Mission Impossible 7. Though the tone sounds abusive, you get the sense that he’s not abusing his power. As a producer on film as well as its star, he knows exactly what’s on the line if production gets halted.

The biggest takeaway from this rant seems to be his concern of the economic impact that coronavirus has wielded on the entertainment industry. He’s berating crew who don’t seem aware that jobs, families, incomes, and even the whole future of Hollywood are depending on a film set that won’t get shut down by the coronavirus.

we are creating thousands of jobs you motherf****rs

– Tom Cruise

You really hear it when he says people are losing their houses because they can’t work. And you hear him as an overworked daddy when he complains about having to be on the phone with insurance companies every night.
